Event Description

Join Urban Forest Initiative as we partner with the Arboretum at African Cemetery No. 2. We'll be spreading mulch and various other tree care activities.

 

African Cemetery No. 2 was a burial site for African American residents of Lexington. It was active from the 1820s until 1974. Now on the U.S. Register of Historic Places, the cemetery is also a registered arboretum, with more than 400 native trees.
